Enhancing Site Safety: How Centennial Park Cemetery Transformed Operations with Advanced GIS Mapping

Avoid grave outcomes for digging in the wrong spot?

CENTENNIAL PARK CEMETERY

The Mission

As the largest cemetery in South Australia, Centennial Park Cemetery needed a robust system to identify site hazards and protect infrastructure during ground operations. The goal was to prevent damage and ensure the safety of their Ground Works Team.

The Outcome

We delivered a mapping tool utilising sophisticated Geographic Information System (GIS) information, featuring interactive infrastructure overlays and a built-in photography function. This allowed the team to capture and communicate scheduled work effectively for timely follow-up actions.

The Impact

Our solution included a high-contrast, user-friendly interface designed for outdoor use, with large, easy-to-press touchscreen buttons ideal for tablet devices. By integrating with the ArcGIS system, operations workers gained access to all necessary data, enabling them to perform tasks more efficiently and effectively. The result was a significant reduction in infrastructure incidents related to site preparation and other tasks.
